A new year means a fresh look for the Beltline Bike Shop, in several ways.

In additional to a beautiful new website (more on that story to come!), the bike shop got a little makeover as we prepare for 2012.
2011 was our first full year in our Adair Park shop location. It was a busy year; at peak times, we would see up to 50 kids on a Saturday afternoon in a two-hour span. Our little shop space would get cramped, fast.
Since the fall, we’ve worked hard to organize and rework the space to make it more efficient. One of the ways we knew we needed to do that was to install better bike stands. When a kid or adult comes in to fix their bike, they typically first look for a stand to put their bike on. This allows for easy access to all parts of the bike, at eye level.
We put out a Christmas wish just before the holidays for friends and supporters to help us make the investment for four new stands, enough to take care of eight bikes. In just a few weeks, the money came in from supporters, both local and as far as Texas.
This month, the order was placed, the stands came in, and they’ve been installed. We’re thrilled! Just this alone will make the shop space more productive and safe. We’re gearing up for spring, meeting new families and inviting kids to earn bikes!
